About
How It Started
Cascata was born at a family Christmas gathering in 2025. We wanted a card game that was easy to learn but had enough depth to keep everyone engaged — something that worked with a standard deck of cards and felt fresh every time.
After a few rounds of prototyping with physical cards around the kitchen table, Cascata took shape. The stealing mechanic — where you can grab opponents' incomplete melds — turned out to be the spark that made every game unpredictable and every decision meaningful.
The Game
Cascata is a card game for 2–4 players using a standard 54-card deck (52 cards + 2 jokers). Players draft cards from a pyramid formation and build melds — sets of same-rank cards — to score points. The twist: incomplete melds can be stolen by opponents who complete them to 4 cards. Only full sets are safe.
Going Digital
The physical game was so much fun that it deserved to be shared with more people. So the entire game was built as a free browser app — no downloads, no accounts, no ads.
- Play with friends online by sharing a room code
- Quick play against AI bots when no one else is around
- Optional 3D table view for TV or big screen game nights
- Available in English, Swedish, Norwegian, and Portuguese
- Completely free — supported by optional donations
Play with Physical Cards
Cascata works great with a real deck of cards too. All you need is a standard deck with 2 jokers and 2–4 players. Check the rules page to learn how to play.
